3M Teaching Fellowships
Deadline: 31 August 2012
In 1986, the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) and 3M Canada joined to reward exceptional contributions to teaching and learning at Canadian universities. The community of 3M National Teaching Fellows embodies the highest ideals of teaching excellence and scholarship with a commitment to enhance the educational experience of every learner.
There are now 238 3M National Teaching Fellows scattered throughout Canada representing a broad range of academic disciplines. They work individually and collaboratively to enhance teaching and learning at their own institutions and through larger collaborative initiatives supported by the Society.
The Selection Committee looks for the following independent evidence:
Alan Blizzard Award

The Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education invite applications for the 2012 Alan Blizzard Award.
This Award celebrates, and brings to national attention, exemplary collaborative faculty projects in Canadian universities that deepen and extend student learning. We are inviting you to nominate a faculty team whose outstanding collaborative teaching at your university has made a difference for students.

Each year the Alan Blizzard Award winning paper is published in monograph form by McGraw-Hill Ryerson, co-sponsor of the Alan Blizzard Award. The award-winning papers from 2000 through 2011 are also available on the STLHE Website.
OCUFA Teaching Awards and Academic Librarianship Award
Deadline: 21 May 2013
Presented by the Ontario Confederation of Ontario University Faculty Associations in recognition of outstanding teachers and academic librarians at Ontario universities. Areas which may be considered by the committee include: classroom instruction, thesis supervision, course design, curriculum development, research on university teaching, development of innovative teaching methods, and educational planning and policy making.

- Commitment to the improvement of university teaching, with emphasis on contributions beyond the nominee's discipline or profession to as broad an audience as possible.
